I’ve seen posts by bloggers on email loops and Twitter or Facebook, but generally have paid little attention to them (hangs head in shame). It seemed to be a lot of information about writing, or personal journals, or recipes. <shrugs> What can I say? I have many good writer friends and we talk writing all the time. I’m a therapist and read personal journals for a living. And I don’t like cooking or crafts, so…
But then I took a course by Kristen Lamb. Her course, called ‘We Are Not Alone’ is an enlightening experience. She managed to connect the approximately 100 members of the class in an amazing, exciting way. I can’t recommend Kristen’s course and blog enough. You can find it here . This class has encouraged me to look at blogs with a fresh pair of eyes and find those that mean something to me. I will blog more about the personal bloggers I met in this course but I’d like to share a few links to long time bloggers who’s opinion I’ve come to value.
Anne R Allen has a fascinating blog covering a variety of topics to do with writing and blogging. Good tips for beginners and in depth information for those who have been around the block a time or two. Learn from Anne at http://annerallen.blogspot.com
Jane Friedman is a well-known blogger with an eclectic blog covering a variety of topics from social media to confronting the fear of public speaking. Always informative and entertaining Jane is a must read on my list.
Jenny Hanson at http://jennyhansenauthor.wordpress.com writes a blog called ‘Cowbell You Need More of It’ . She covers a wide range of personal topics ranging from “My Brother is a Bag Whore” to ROW 80 check ins. Always entertaining, you never know what Jenny is up to, but she’s bound to share it in her blog.
As you can see, I love learning. These blogs all have contributed to my understanding of the new world of technology. They’re part of the reason I bought and fought with a new smart phone (here are my struggles). Best of all they’ve added to my life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Nice mashup, Louise. They sound like great blogs to check out. And thanks for the link to the free digital photos. I’m broke, so I love freebies!
thanks for stopping by Lynn and the support. Enjoy these blogs and let me know what you think.
I enjoy the same blogs, Louise. Kristin Lamb’s course has helped me stretch. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned from her and from my fellow WANAers.
The benefits from Kristin’s course are so amazing…and always intangible – learning to blog and use twitter properly, setting up the group on FB…they all contribute to the circle of support and friends and kindness that has changed our lives.
Glad to know i’m not alone in my blog tastes.
Thanks much for the shout-out. I’m honored to be in the company of Jane Friedman, Kristen Lamb and the Cowbell! .
And I’m very grateful for your blog. thanks for stopping by
I haven’t been to Anne R Allen’s site so I’m going to have to visit. What’s really cool about checking out these blogs is there’s always something to learn. A week or two ago, on Jenny Hanson’s blog, I learned all about the Track Changes function in Word. Had always meant to read about it but until then, had never found the time. 🙂
Wonderful mashup, Louise. Thanks!
the info on the net is mind boggling but for you and I, who are always learning, it is almost overwhelming…Merry Christmas, my friend.
Great job on the mash-up Louise! Love your suggestions. They are a good source of information for bloggers. Thanks Louise! 🙂
thanks Karen. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the WANA support as I learn to do this. Our class has totally removed the fear for me from this whole process. Amazing.
