More Fun with Awards

When I started Kristen Lamb’s class We Are Not Alone, back in October, I wasn’t so sure about blogging.  I’m a voracious reader but I don’t read blogs is what I told myself.  So I sat around and watched and learned, got started on twitter and hung out with some of the coolest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

Then one day I decided that I had to do what I’d tell a client to do and that is “Jump in.  You won’t know how the water is until you get wet.”  So I created a blog and jumped in.

And I was shocked by what I discovered:  I enjoy blogging.  Go figure.

I lurched around for awhile, trying to find a topic.  Then I realized I have studied human behavior for a long time.  It’s been a neat experience to realize I could share what I’ve learned and people were interested in reading it.

I’ve learned about my voice and my expertise and even how I approach the world.  All in all, it’s been a wonderful experience.   And I discovered that Kristen was right:  when we jump in together, it’s supportive and fun.

Then Lynn Kelley gave me the Versatile Blogger Award.  While I didn’t really know what to do with it, I was thrilled.  Then cama the WANA Blogfest, where five of us (FabioBueno, Karen McFarland, Jansen Schmidt,  Ginger Calem and myself) returned the favor all on the same day.  I had more fun with that party than you can imagine.

A few weeks later I received the Liebster Award for small blogs.  Two badges to put on my blog site.  I was so thrilled.  I took my time and found some blogs I really enjoyed reading and gave out those awards.  I learned that the search for great blogs is more fun than almost anything.  With a new WANA class I had lots of material and plenty of blogs to research.  Although that class was new, I found some excellent blogging sites.

Since then Sheila Seabrook gave me the Versatile Blogger Award and Marcy Kennedy gave me the Liebster Award.  Ladies, I appreciate it more than you can know.  I am on the hunt for deserving blogs to pass on the awards from you.  But  my life has been crazy lately and I’m behind the eight ball.  Please know I appreciate your recognition in ways you can’t begin to know.  And I will pass both awards on, as soon as I find the blogs that meet the criteria of each.

  1. Louise, when someone goes on vacation and still keeps up with social media and commenting on blogs, I think you deserve the awards girl!!!! You’re amazing Louise. I don’t know that if I had the opportunity to soak up some rays and waves on Maui that I would have been that dedicated. But there you were in the middle of the Pacific keeping in touch.

Oh did you see any whales? My husband and I have been there around this time of year and saw them off Kaanapali. (Is that how you spell it? I think so.) Anyway I do hope you had a terrific time! 🙂

    • thanks Karen. We saw lots of whales off in the distance but none on our whale watching tour. the tour the night before was amazed at all they saw. go figure. As for me and Maui, I’m not a sun bather and I don’t care to lie by the pool all day, so outside a bit and then open the windows or sit under an umbrella and relax. too bad I didn’t write on my book more,.
